Surface Preparation
The following minimum curing periods should be observed before tiling commences:
- New concrete floors: 28 days
- New screeds: 28 days
- New brick walls: 28 days
- New cement plaster: 28 days
Ensure all surfaces to be tiled are clean, free of dust, grease, oil, wax polish and organic matter. The surface must be firm and free from excess movement due to shrinkage
Mixing
- Mix 20kg of SupaFix Tile adhesive with 5L of water
- In wet or permanently wet areas, or other high traffic areas, replace water with SupaFix Bonding Liquid
- All SupaFix tile adhesive and mix to a creamy and lump free paste
- Allow the mixture to sit for up to 5 minutes and stir again
- Apply tile adhesive using a float
Application
- Using a notched towel, spread enough tile adhesive that can be used for 10-15 minutes so as to prevent the adhesive from 'skinning' before use
- Butter deeply grooved tiled before pressing firmly into the creamy paste in a twisting action
- For heavy tiles, use a rubber mallet to firmly fix tiles into the tile adhesive solid bed
- Remove excess tile adhesive from joints and clean the tile surface before it dries
- Do not butt joint tiles. Use minimum 2mm grouting joints for wall tiles and 5mm for floor tiles
- Allow tiles to set before grouting

4-6m2 per 20kg bag, depending on surface conditions and method of application
Storage & Shelf Life
SupaFix Tile Adhesives have a shelf life of 12 months from date of manufacture, when stored unopened in a dry place.
